Since there's limited information available on "Cloudron," I wanted to share some insights.
The existing guide isn't accurate. When you order a new Linux VPS, you won't find Cloudron in the "Addons" section. Here's how to get it:
For Experienced Users:
Go to "Reinstall OS" on your existing Linux VPS; Cloudron will appear on the list.
For Inexperienced Users:
After purchasing a Linux VPS, go to "Services" (select your Linux VPS).
Click "Manage" on the far right.
From the right-side menu, choose "Reinstall OS."
Expand the section labeled "Please select a new OS for..." and you will see "Cloudron + Ubuntu 18.04 (64-bit)" on the list. Select it and proceed to reinstall.
IMPORTANT:
BuyCheapVPS doesn't mention this, but Cloudron isn't free. You can only install 2 apps at a time without a paid license, which costs around $30/month. However, if BuyCheapVPS contacts Cloudron, they might secure a discount. Cloudron is a convenient platform for quick app installations, but you may not need many of the apps it offers. The apps you do need can often be installed separately, though it requires more time and effort. In the long run, it might be better to invest in a more robust VPS.
