BuycheapVPS's DNS Manager simplifies domain setup directly from the BuyCheapVPS client area.
Setup Requirements
Before you begin, ensure you have:
A Virtual Private Server (VPS) or Storage Server from BuyCheapVPS . If you don’t have one, you can order and set it up in less than 5 minutes.
A registered domain name. Note that domain registration is not available through BuyCheapVPS .
Change Your Domain Name Servers
Access your domain registrar’s control panel and locate the "Name Server" fields.
Point your name servers to BuyCheapVPS by entering the following details:
ns1.buycheapvps.com
ns2.buycheapvps.com
Save your changes and exit.
Although these name servers are listed in WHOIS, it might take an hour or two for the changes to propagate and be reflected on your site.
Configure Your Domain
Log in to the BuyCheapVPS client area.
Navigate to the DNS Management section and click "Add Zone."
Enter your domain name (without "www") and the IP address of the server you wish to connect to.
Finish Up
After completing these steps, allow some time for your DNS information to propagate. The Name Server information will be automatically updated. Your domain should be fully operational within a few hours.
To verify that your domain has been registered correctly, you can use the following command to ping it:
ping test.example.com
You should receive a response similar to:
PING test.example.com (12.34.56.789) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 12.34.56.789: icmp_req=1 ttl=63 time=1.47 ms
64 bytes from 12.34.56.789: icmp_req=2 ttl=63 time=0.674 ms
